One of those weeks...

I'm having one of those weeks - rocking up to work at 8am, getting home at 8pm, eating crappy supermarket sandwiches for lunch in the 5 mins I get to grab lunch, and feeling sick and fat for it! I'm not going to complain because I love my job and getting in late doesn't bother me really. Also I'm lucky to have a job, but I'm still tired and I worry that I won't get everything I want to done. I've even taken on more work and working on different accounts in the hopes that I can prove my worth in case they do make any cuts.

Anyway, when I'm like this I sometimes need to have a winge and a moan - it's good for the soul. I'm a bit of a Victor Meldrew. I do like a good old fashioned moan! So, here are the top 5 things that are really getting my goat this week.

1. Two faced people: there's someone at the moment driving me potty. She is so unbelievably fake - I sussed it within about 1 minute of meeting her with my fake-da and slowly but surely other people are cottoning on. Sends a shiver down my spine, I just can't stomach it!

2. Girly cars: you know the 'I want the pink one' type cars. The ones that are all 'style' (albeit lack of) and no substance. Every time I see a new VW Beetle I get a little bit of sick in my throat....horrible, horrible, horrible!

3. Kids: it's not that I don't like them I just couldn't eat a whole one! ;-) No, seriously. I like kids, but by god I can't stand having to hear about them all day outside my office! Quite frankly I couldn't give a rat's butt hole if 'my Jonty got an A in his maths homework'. I like the cute stuff but leave the showing off for the school gate!

4. Moaning about the weather: next time I hear someone say 'ooh, it's going to rain tomorrow' or 'dreadful weather isn't it?' I fear I may well lose the will to live! Perhaps we should all try living in Alaska and see how we like that, or anyone for a trip to the Sahara? No, I didn't think so.

5. My blog being too sickly sweet 'I made this because I am super woman' because I'm not, I moan and swear too much! :-)

There we are, sorry to my one reader. Please don't leave!

TTFN,

Sian x

You can moan anytime, Sian :)
At least I know I'm not alone in the bad week business. Here is hoping things look up soon though.

Sian, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think you and I are terribly similar.
Every.single.one of those drives me around the fucking bend!
I especially hate what I call 'Princess Mentality', the people who think they should be treated like a princess and actively say so. Cor blimey I want to wallop those numpties.

Ahh.. no wonder I touched a nerve in you with my blog post. I can see now how I got up some reader's noses!!
Aside from that... I have to say I admire your honesty.. If I was to start a rant.. it would last for days..so maybe I should just keep quiet!

P.s I wish I had 5k for an Aga too.. mine was secondhand.

Ha Ha.... I think we all feel like this, It's good to let off steam. I hate fake people too, I can spot them a mile off & believe me in my job I've seen a few!!! :)

I'm with you on all of those, apart from the children (I have 2)! When I worked in an office, I thought office politics etc was bad, but nothing beats the playground.......not my favourite place and one where it causes me no end of annoyance. I'll leave it at that as once I start......!

I'm hearing you on the fake thing! Sometimes I can't stand someone on meeting them and just don't get why everyone else loves them... they do tend to only have friends/jobs for a short time though til they get sussed!

The kids thing is hard, unfortunately some of us with kids don't really have a lot of other stuff to talk about so we just blab it out to fill the gaps :-S

Good for you talking about how you are feeling :)

I reckon if and when you have your own child we wont be able to shut you up talking about him or her ;) X

My last post is about my children, ooops, we can't help it ;)

Oooh dear, Sian. Sounds like you're in need of a "Duvet Day". As a kid I did Ballroom Dancing lessons, there was always a shortage of boys. There was a couple of girls who refused to dance "Boy". Sometimes when meeting someone new I can't work out why I don't like them. Then I realise, it's 'cos I know that if they'd been in my dance class, they'd never dance "Boy"

Its good to moan about things some times. And if I see one more pink car and there is a skip near by there may well be a brick hurled through the window. It doesn't look cute, it doesn't look girly, it just looks utterly bloody ridiculous!

(on a side, did you ever see the episode of top gear where the colour of the test drive car was pink, and hammond drove through somewhere wearing a bag on his head to hide the shame? Absolutely what I would do if I had no choice!)

Which 'one reader' is that? Do you think the rest of us can take it? If so, you're right! I agree most of all about the sickly sweet blog risk, so congratulations, you are far too real for that! I struggle because I blog for my mum who's ill, so I really don't want to say anything that would upset her, but she has a fairly high 'anti-cutsie-ometer' herself, so I think I just about manage not to be too sickly.

*Ahem*

I'd just like to say that boy*jelly got a trophy last term, and when I went to pick him up today from school in my pink VW Beetle, the rain wouldn't stop and I got soaked through, but I've made a blog post today about something I made ... aren't I clever?

Tee hee
;o)

(PS - one of those statements is false .....)

I'm with you on all of those. Wait until the mothers start discussing their childbirth experiences or swapping advice about cracked nipples. Used to make me want to heave.

As did people's astonishing nosiness about my love life when I was single.

I mean, what could I possibly be doing in the evenings without a husband or children?

I must be lying in a distraught heap desperately wishing I was them so i could join in with my own childbirth and cracked nipples experiences.

Thank God I'm self-employed and work from home now.

Hi there, I am hosting a book swap over on my blog. It is a permanent feature, which will always be on my blog, it is not a one off, like the rose theme swap I'm hosting. I have listed a load of my books which I am willing to swap, take a look, there may be some you fancy. If you would like to list books which you no longer want, and are willing to swap, just contact me at rosehyacinth@hotmail.co.uk, or leave a comment on my blog, with your name, the name of your blog and the books you wish to swap, and I will type them up and post them on the swap page, so the more and more people who participate, the wider the range of books there will be to choose from, and remember, it will always be there on my blog.

I know I've come to this post a bit late (I'm always playing catch-up') but I just had to comment as I love a good moan myself and often feel like Victor Meldrew. Love the comment about the cars especially as I fell into that trap when I got a new phone. I thought I was a substance over style sort of person but ended up drooling over a pink phone. I had to be tied to another network in order to have it but I couldnt help myself. I still look at it and shake my head at myself - still love it though!
