Busy, busy, busy

I have been unbelievably busy lately, I've not blogged, checked blogs, emailed or phoned anyone.
A friend of mine just had a baby and I've not even had time to call her! Today was a lovely day, but I've been sat in resting. I did find time to make this small quilt this afternoon.

I love vibrant colours at the moment. I've rather gone off the muted florals in favour of brighter colours - they put a smile on my face and are so spring like!

The rug arrived yesterday, I think it matches in perfectly the next addition to Tim's room is going to be one of these gorgeous Captain's office chairs in Ox-blood to match the sofa. It really will look like a gentlemen's room then! :-)

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! :-)

Hi Sian
Glad you are having a good rest. I love the quilt you have popped together it looks so nice. I know what you mean about sometimes brighter colours. I am like that with clothes the other day I went out in a green skirt and green cardigan as I was sick of black!
Enjoy your evening x Dom

Hi Sian

How good is that quilt?
Its lovely - I can't believe you made it in an afternoon, I'm really really impressed!

Cheeky question - I would love to have a go one day too - is it very easy? I would welcome any basic tips for a very basic 'sewer' like me xx

Love Sam xx

That's such a gorgeous quilt. I am going for slightly brighter colours too at the moment - I don't know if it is to do with the sun coming out at last! Hope you don't mind me asking, but what did you paint your trunk in from the 1st photo? I have got an identical one but mine is brown at the mo and I want to turn it into something a bit prettier, and yours is lovely.

hi Cathy,

I used a B&Q own water-based eggshell paint. I think the colour's called Sage Green. It has chipped, but I like that! The beauty of egg shell is that I think he chest was dry in about 2 hours! :-)
